Your Customer Report functionality in LifeSaver Software is a powerful way for you to see how much revenue your customers are generating in your store and to export your customer data in useful ways. This article will show you how to access, filter, and interpret the Customer Revenue Report as well as how to work with the different exports. Read on to learn how quick and easy it is to see who’s contributing most to your bottom line.

To get to this area, click the Reports button from the LifeSaver Software Home page. The Store Reporting page will load. Click the Customer button to access the Customer Revenue report and the different exports, as pictured below.

Customer Report & Export Functions

Your Customer Revenue report and the Customer Export, Constant Contact Export, and Mailchimp Contact Export pages have the following functions:

  1. Back Button –  This button will take you back to the Store Reporting page.
  2. Date Range – Enter the Start Date and End Date you need, then click the View Report button to load the data for that period.
  3. Navigation –  If the report has multiple pages of data, you can use the arrows to go all the way to the beginning or end page (outer arrows), to the previous or next page (inner arrows), or you can enter the page you want to go to in the page number field.
  4. Refresh – If your report data might have changed since you loaded the page, or if you just want to reload to the initial view, click the Refresh button.
  5. Return to Parent Report – If the report you’re viewing is loaded from a parent report, the Return to Parent Report will take you back to that page. If there is no parent report, this button will not be active.
  6. Zoom – Using this control, you can set the Zoom level for the report’s viewing window. This feature does not enlarge the actual viewing window and will only control the zoom level within the frame below the control header.
  7. Save / Export – Click this button to download an Excel file, PDF document, or CSV spreadsheet of the report data. This function will export all pages of data.
  8. Print – Click the Print button to send a print of all report data to a browser print window. You will also see a window that will allow you to download a PDF file of the output. All pages of the report will print by default.
  9. Search – You can search by keyword or numeric data for anything in the report. Click Find to jump to the first search match. Click Next to jump to the next one until you find what you need.
  10. Average Customer Revenue (Customer Revenue Report only) – This graph will show the Average Customer Revenue dollar amount spent across all transactions for the period. You can click the Show / Hide Gauge icon to hide or display it, as needed.
  11. Sort / Reverse Sort – Columns that have the Sort icon allow you to sort alphanumerically or click again to reverse the sort. The active sorted column will have its Sort icon changed to display either for Descending (down arrow icon) or Ascending (up arrow icon pictured below) results.

The Customer Revenue Report Data Table

The Customer Revenue report gives you critical sales information about the customers that used your framing services within the date range you selected. It gives you the following data for each of your customers: 

  • The Customer Name.
  • The Framing Gross, Framing Net, and Framing Discount dollar amounts across all orders for the customer for the selected date range.
  • The Number of Frames Ordered (final ordered quantity), Number of Framing Orders (Before Quantity) (quantity including any canceled, returned, or voided orders).
  • The dollar amount for the Total Framing Revenue (framing earnings after discounts).
  • The First Frame Order date and the Last Frame Order date within the selected date range.

Below the data table the system will display the date and time you ran the report as well as the page number.

 

The Customer Export

The Customer Export has complete details of customers for whatever period you choose to view. You are able to set a date range for the report using the Start Date and End Date fields. By default, the report will display the last seven days. You can filter by Customer Groups if you have created any. You can set the data table to Show These Fields from a list of all data available (by default, all data columns display). You have the option to Only Show Customers Who Have an Email Address. You have Filter options showing All Customers, those who placed orders in the date range, those who ordered within a dollar amount range you can specify, those who placed a specified number of orders in the date range, or you can view only top customers, and you can specify how many you view. If you change any of the filters, click the View Report button to load the selected data.

It gives you the following data for customers from each of your chosen stores: 

  • The customer’s First Name and Last Name.
  • The customer’s Company Name, if any.
  • The customer’s Address, Address 2, City, State, and Zip / Postal Code.
  • The customer’s Home Phone, Work Phone, Fax Phone, and Cell Phone.
  • The customer’s Tax ID (this is only needed if the customer is tax exempt).
  • The First Purchase date and Last Purchase date.
  • The Last Purchase Amount and Total Purchase Amount (dollar value of all purchases).
  • The customer’s Email address.
  • The customer’s Group, if any.
  • The customer’s Do Not Mail preference.
  • The customer’s Default Discount, if any.
  • The Customer Number

 

The Constant Contact Export

The Constant Contact Export has complete details of customers for whatever period you choose to view. You are able to set a date range for the report using the Start Date and End Date fields. By default, the report will display the last seven days. You can filter by Customer Groups if you have created any. You have Filter options showing All Customers, those who placed orders in the date range, those who ordered within a dollar amount range you can specify, those who placed a specified number of orders in the date range, or you can view only top customers, and you can specify how many you view. If you change any of the filters, click the View Report button to load the selected data.

It gives you the following data for customers from each of your chosen stores: 

  • The customer’s Email address.
  • The customer’s First Name and Last Name.
  • The customer’s Company name, if any.
  • The customer’s Birthday and Anniversary.
  • The customer’s Home Address Line 1, Home Address Line 2, City, State, Zip / Postal Code, and Country.
  • The customer’s Phone Number - Home, Phone Number - Work, and Phone Number - Mobile.
  • The Constant Contact Tags for the customer.
  • The customer’s Notes, if any.

 

The Mailchimp Contact Export

The Mailchimp Contact Export has complete details of customers for whatever period you choose to view. You are able to set a date range for the report using the Start Date and End Date fields. By default, the report will display the last seven days. You can filter by Customer Groups if you have created any. You have Filter options showing All Customers, those who placed orders in the date range, those who ordered within a dollar amount range you can specify, those who placed a specified number of orders in the date range, or you can view only top customers, and you can specify how many you view. If you change any of the filters, click the View Report button to load the selected data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is there a way to see every customer’s revenue for a specific time period?  

A: Yes. Click the Start and End date icons to choose your time frame, then click View Report. This will update the Customer Revenue Report to show data just for that period.

 

Q: Can I download the Customer Revenue Report to Excel?  

A: Absolutely. Click the export icon, select Excel, and then save your report.

 

Q: Why isn’t a particular customer showing on the report?  

A: The Customer Revenue Report only includes revenue from orders classified as framing. If the missing customer hasn’t purchased framing services, or if the purchases are outside your selected date range, they won’t appear.

 

Q: What is the best export format for Constant Contact and Mailchimp?

A: For both Constant Contact and Mailchimp, the CSV (comma separated values) file export is recommended.
